Oh the romance of it all, even if the narrative is not quite love song in nature, more the effects of the breakup, this sounds like a classic drivetime soundtrack. Wouldn’t have been surprised to find that Hahn had been with us since the prog rock riff laden 1970’s such are the dramatic arrangements. This is commercial fare but with alt leanings and that is down to the innovative thinking and a definite direction in following one’s own instincts rather than replaying what has gone on before. In short ‘Sleeping Meds’ make for a beguiling listen, a lush swell of soulful rock that swallows us whole. KH
