Family Guy Announces Two New Hulu Exclusive Holiday Specials

Family Guy Hulu Halloween special

San Diego Comic Con presented a panel dedicated to Family Guy and talked new specials and the next season. While season 24 won’t premiere until 2026, there will be two holiday specials exclusive to Hulu this fall.

Stewie and Lois Griffin from Family GuyStars Alex Borstein (Lois), Seth Green (Chris), and Jennifer Tilly (Bonnie) joined executive producers Alec Sulkin and Kara Vallow. They discussed the new Hulu specials and showed some clips from the upcoming season of Family Guy. The first Hulu exclusive will be a Halloween special called “A Little Fright Music” that will drop on Monday, October 6th. It will feature Brian and Stewie trying to write a hit Halloween song while Peter and his friends learn the consequences about lying during trick or treating. The panel didn’t talk about the second special, but it’s likely a Christmas episode.

So it looks like we can expect a repeat of how things went last year for Family Guy. The 2024 Halloween special, “Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Cheater”, was a Hulu exclusive that aired on October 14th while their Christmas special, “Gift of the White Guy”, aired November 25th. They were called specials, but they didn’t run longer than a normal episode. Season 23 premiered on Fox on February 16th of this year and ran until July 17th.

Season 24 premieres in 2026, and while we don’t have a date yet, we do know some Herbert/Gandalf and Chris/Frodo in Family Guy Lord of the Rings parodydetails about upcoming episodes thanks to the clips shown during the panel. There will be a Lord of the Rings parody called “The Lord of the Earring” that casts Herbert in the role of Gandalf and Chris as Frodo. It also looks like there is another episode where the Griffins are early American settlers and one where Lois is finally able to understand Stewie. As expected, new episodes of Family Guy will be filled with risque humor, celebrity parodies, and commentary on current events.

Fox has renewed Family Guy for four more seasons, so the show will continue on until at least season 27. Family Guy is produced by Fuzzy Door Productions and 20th Television Animation. Seth MacFarlane serves as creator and executive producer. The show’s executive producers and current showrunners are Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin.
