King Of The Hill Revival Receives King-Sized Renewal

Guess we don’t have to worry about the King of the Hill revival being a one-season wonder anymore. Hulu has announced a double order for the series, confirming seasons 16 and 17 will be produced. Keep in mind, this most recent season was #14. There’s an unannounced Season 15 somewhere in here, which is expected next year.

After an absence of fifteen years — during which time the characters aged, but not by as much as real time would dictate — King of the Hill’s fourteenth season debuted with all ten episodes on August 4. It ranked at #2 on Nielsen’s Overall Top 10 Streaming chart, only bested by the new season of Wednesday. Hulu says 1 billion hours were streamed globally across Hulu and Disney+, though they could be factoring the other seasons into that figure.

Season 14 is also Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with 98% Tomatometer and 90% Popcornmeter scores. I have seen it and can confirm it really is that good.

The King of the Hill revival takes place after a timeskip, with an older Hank and Peggy Hill returning from Saud-eye Arabiah to their old home and neighborhood. Bobby is now a chef with his own restaurant that he runs with frenemy Chane Wassonasong, and still keeps in touch with Joseph and flirts with Connie. But Bill is still a pathetic loser, Dale is still a paranoid weirdo and Boomhauer is still barely intelligible verbally. Some things never change.

The new seasons star most of the same cast, where available: Mike Judge as Hank Hill, Kathy Najimy as Peggy Hill, Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill, Stephen Root as Bill Dauterive and Lauren Tom as Connie & Minh Souphanousinphone. You may have heard Johnny Hardwick passed a few episodes into his return as Dale Gribble — the first few mixed his performance with his replacement Toby Huss (voice of Cotton Hill), and it wasn’t hard to tell which was which…sadly Hardwick did not sound well at all. We also lost Jonathan Joss as the voice of John Redcorn, though he was able to complete Season 14.

King of the Hill will return in 2026 with ten more episodes, followed by ten more in 2027 and 2028 respectively. As for what’s happening in the yet-to-be-streamed Season 15, we don’t know yet, but we figure it will go something like this:
