Crowned “the merchant of pure gay chaos,” Lynks has evolved from underground cult hero to one of the UK’s most unpredictable and magnetic performers. Lauded by The Guardian, NME, DIY, Time Out, Attitude, and even Elton John, Lynks has turned the notion of pop performance inside out, creating a space where absurdity, hedonism, and queer liberation collide spectacularly.
Their live shows have achieved near-mythic status: sold-out club nights and festival sets that feel more like ritual than concert, with sweat, latex, and euphoria in equal measure. From Glastonbury to Reading, Latitude to KOKO, Lynks transforms every stage into a fever dream of electro-punk theatrics, a haven for the unhinged and the fabulous alike.
Now, Lynks is entering what they’re calling their “Global Sex” era, a worldwide invitation to their ever-expanding cult of chaos. The movement begins with “I Didn’t Come Here For Art”, a blistering electro-clash anthem that distills Lynks’ irreverent spirit into three and a half minutes of sweat-soaked ecstasy. Fusing industrial synths, biting humour, and unapologetic self-awareness, it’s a sermon for the dancefloor faithful; both a critique and celebration of the absurdity of modern “cool culture.”
As Lynks puts it:
You know, there’s only so many times you can go to an ‘event’ at some trendy ‘multi-use space’ and be subjected to a bunch of pretentious bullsh*t ‘art’ performances while all the straight mullet boys in their Palace tees nod their heads thoughtfully before you have to think — hey, enough is enough. This track is my call to arms. End all art immediately!!!
To christen this new chapter, Lynks recently transformed London’s Selfridges car park into an underground queer rave, a wild baptism for Global Sex. Joined by guests including Alex Chapman, Black Peppa, Tsatsamis, Elouiza, Greta Isaac, and Thempress, the night was everything Lynks stands for: sweaty, ecstatic, and gloriously deranged.
Next up, Lynks takes their message global, heading to Australia for a string of shows, including NYE But Gay in Sydney and club nights at FLASH in Brisbane and Melbourne. The chaos, it seems, is only just beginning.
