ENHYPEN's Sunghoon Selected as a Torch Bearer for 2026 Winter Olympics



Sunghoon from the K-pop group ENHYPEN will carry the torch at the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics taking place in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, according to an announcement from BELIFT on Saturday.

Prior to his music career, Sunghoon competed as a member of South Korea's national figure skating reserve squad. More recently, he has taken on the role of ambassador for the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, a position he's held since the previous year. Samsung Electronics Co., serving as an official sponsor of the Olympics, put forward his name for the torchbearer honor.

In a statement, Sunghoon expressed his deep admiration for Olympic athletes, saying he understands the dedication and hard work that national team members invest in preparing for the Winter Games.

"I had dreamed of being part of the Olympics when I was skating, and I am thrilled to be able to fulfill that dream now as a singer."  - he remarked.

ENHYPEN, the multinational seven-member group that launched in 2020, recently dropped their seventh mini-album, THE SIN : VANISH, on January 16, 2026. The release contains 11 songs, with "Knife" serving as the lead single.
