Tour season is kicking into high gear, and one of the most anticipated tours has come through North America! South Korean girl group TWICE is here once again to bring music to generations of fans, both young and old. On January 17, the band came to Oakland Arena for a weekend of fun and music with back-to-back shows. The “THIS IS FOR” Tour included cities such as Vancouver, Oakland, Inglewood, Phoenix, Dallas, Washington, D.C., Elmont, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Montreal, and many more cities and countries throughout 2026.

So, who is TWICE? For new readers, TWICE is a South Korean girl group under JYP Entertainment that debuted in 2015. The group includes Dahyun, Sana, Mina, Chaeyoung, Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Nayeon, Momo, and Tzuyu. On July 11, 2025, the band released their album This Is For with a matching title track. Later, on October 10, 2025, they released the album “Ten: The Story Goes On,” featuring the group song “Me+You,” with the remaining tracks consisting of solo songs that showcase each member’s personal musical style and color.

This 2026 tour was definitely amped up from the last one. With the addition of a 360-degree stage, the production—along with a live band, backup dancers, and ri
sing stages—set TWICE up to deliver a concert experience unlike any other this year. Between some song performances, the live band and dancers had moments to shine on their own and really elevated the production of this tour as it came to life.

The show kicked off with “This Is For,” immediately sending fans into a roar with one of their latest hit songs. The lights were on, and the stage was set. The layout consisted of three main stages and two bridges, allowing members and backup dancers to move easily in formation. The center featured rising platforms that enhanced visibility and allowed each member to connect with fans from all sides of the stage. Though it may have been hard to enjoy depending on your viewpoint, the planning of who performed where in alternation made sure fans had a moment to see their favorite member or song intentionally.

With over ten years of experience and countless musical records, it’s easy to imagine how difficult crafting the perfect setlist can be. Fans are always both excited and anxious to see whether their favorite songs make the cut. However, TWICE successfully delivered a thoughtfully crafted setlist divided into three distinct parts.

TWICE’s Modern Pop Sound:
The first portion of the show highlighted the group’s evolving sound through the years and their collaborations with various producers. TWICE opened with newer hits such as “Strategy” (featuring Megan Thee Stallion), “Set Me Free,” “Options,” “Moonlight Sunrise,” and “I Can’t Stop Me,” just to name a few.

The Colors of TWICE:
The second portion of the night showcased solo performances, with each member introducing their individual songs alongside backup dancers spread across the stage. Tzuyu performed “Dive In” with a structured and dynamic dance display, while Mina delivered an elegant and emotionally charged performance of “Stone Cold.” Nayeon’s solo “Meeeee” radiated diva energy and feminine charm. Jeongyeon brought a unique twist with her country-infused solo “Fix a Drink.” Dahyun, though temporarily unable to dance, played the piano and sang her solo “Chess,” with dancers helping create a visually striking performance. Chaeyoung showed her softer side in “Shoot,” Jihyo switched up the vibe with her hip-hop track “ATM,” Sana’s Decaffeinated” featured fast-paced choreography and rhythmic flair, and Momo closed the solo segment with “Move Like That,” highlighting her exceptional dance and performance skills.

Each solo performance clearly showcased the individual talent of each member and the unique color they bring to the group as a whole. Fans appreciate seeing their favorites grow into their own artistry while still contributing to TWICE’s collective identity.

The Classic TWICE:
The third and final part of the show featured classic hits that longtime fans know and love—songs that played a major role and milestone in launching the group’s worldwide success. Tracks like “Fancy” had fans on their feet performing the iconic hand-gesture choreography, while “What Is Love” and “Yes or Yes” had the crowd singing along louder than ever.

Honorary and Anticipated Highlights:
Fans of the worldwide hit movie K-Pop Demon Hunters were thrilled when members Jihyo, Jeongyeon, and Chaeyoung—who contributed to the soundtrack—performed their song “Takedown,” which was met with massive excitement and anticipation.

For the encore, there was a lot of buzz online after fans expressed disappointment that “Feel Special” wasn’t included on the official setlist. Their passionate screams, signs, and chants didn’t go unnoticed. Originally planning to perform a different encore song, TWICE asked the audience what they wanted to hear and ultimately agreed to perform “Feel Special” for Oakland ONCEs.

As this was Day 1 of the Oakland shows, it was clear to see the immense effort behind the tour’s production, as well as the longevity and dedication of a group that has surpassed ten years together. Attendees from all walks of life filled the Oakland Arena—from fathers and daughters waiting in line, to groups of friends both young and old, to couples sharing the experience. This was a show that created lasting memories for fans of all generations and was met with overwhelming excitement. Thank you to TWICE for delivering a concert for all ages.
