Lee Jiham, main vocalist of boy group A.C.E, has released his first solo single "Forever Mine" on January 29, marking a significant milestone in his musical career.
Since debuting in May 2017, he has established himself throughout his career with A.C.E, Jiham has participated in various projects, including the OST "PART. 3 썸썸한 사이" for 'Sometoon 2021' alongside fellow members Chan and Jun. The group has continued to captivate fans with albums such as "HJZM: The Butterfly Phantasy" and "Changer: Dear Eris."
"Forever Mine" serves as a pre-release digital single, introducing Jiham as a solo artist who "sings while looking at love." The release carries deep emotional weight, exploring the hollowness that comes when "I care about you so much" becomes "I cared about you so much" — a shift from present to past tense that captures the finality of lost love.
In his artist statement, Jiham reflects: "I can't forget that emptiness when 'I cherish you' becomes 'I cherished you' in past tense. To my somewhat foolish self who took being loved for granted."
The lyrics of "Forever Mine" paint a vivid picture of heartbreak and lingering attachment. The song opens with imagery of a collapsing night and words that aren't love, as the narrator finds themselves smiling despite the darkness closing in. The recurring refrain "I love you" — described as words that cannot be erased — anchors the song's emotional core.
Throughout the track, Jiham's vocals convey the desperation of someone clinging to memories, pleading for just one more day and unable to leave the past behind. The bitter realization comes with the line "참 많이 아꼈어" ("I really cherished you"), marking the moment when both parties knew it was the end, yet the narrator couldn't bring themselves to hold on.
The repetition of "be always with me, forever mine" serves as both a plea and a promise — a refusal to let go even when the relationship has ended.
The single sets the stage for what promises to be a compelling solo career, while fans eagerly await what comes next from this talented vocalist.
"Forever Mine" is now available on all major streaming platforms.
