Born Miriam Brandt, Mirby is an independent musician who has been carving her space in the alternative pop world since 2023. Her music often explores themes such as self-love, insecurity, and overthinking, pairing relatable storytelling with polished production. Inspired by fellow Danish artists like Bbybites, Mekdes, and Bathsheba, Mirby continues to develop a sound that feels modern while remaining deeply personal.
Her rise has already included some important career milestones. In August 2024, Mirby made her live debut at the Danish UHØRT Festival in Copenhagen. The following year, in September 2025, she released her debut EP Like This, which received praise from music outlets in both Denmark and the UK.
While her songs often sound bright and uplifting, Mirby is never afraid to approach meaningful topics. Her latest single Educate is a clear example of that balance. Created in collaboration with musician and producer Valdemar Littauer Bendixen, the track centres on setting boundaries, engaging with the world, and daring to ask for respect.
The song was inspired by a real experience, which Mirby explains in her own words:
“I recently experienced a guy sending me some pretty inappropriate messages online. He was clearly interested, even though I had made it clear that I wasn’t. But he kept doing it. With that experience in mind, the lyrics actually began to write themselves. If you want to ‘get dirty’ with me, you’ll have to get to know me and what I like. I’m into caring for the planet. Is that too much to ask? Maybe. But I think you should at least try to understand the person you’re hoping to hook up with. Teach yourself something about them if you want to impress them, instead of just sending creepy DMs. Educate yourself a little, ok?”
As a nod to her love for funk, Educate weaves in groove-driven elements that give the song its lively character. Funk-inspired guitar, a foot-tapping beat, and Mirby’s playful vocal delivery come together to create a pop track that feels effortlessly engaging.
With Educate, Mirby shows why she is one of those artists who knows how to turn personal experiences into music, a skill that truly works in her favour.
