Spiritbox performed a searing rendition of ‘Soft Spine’ at at this year’s Grammys – check out footage below.
The band took to the stage for the 68th annual awards ceremony, which was held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles last night (Sunday February 1).
Introduced by actor and singer-songwriter Darren Criss, who said they personified modern metal with “intensity, precision and emotional weight,” Courtney LaPlante and co. tore through the ‘Tsunami Sea‘ track.
They were up for Best Metal Performance, which ultimately went to Turnstile. It marks the third time the Canadian outfit have been nominated for that award, first being nominated with ‘Jaded’ in 2024, and later ‘Cellar Door’ in 2025.
The latter year saw frontwoman LaPlante go viral after being mistaken for fellow nominee Poppy, whom she pretended to be in an interview at the awards.
She later teamed up with Poppy and Evanescence’s Amy Lee on ‘End Of You’.
“Instead of just dreaming about it, Poppy really went for it and made it happen. Instead of half-assing it, Amy went full out and crushed it,” LaPlante told NME. “All I can do is rise to the occasion and show them the respect they deserve, that they have also shown to me.”
LaPlante initially hinted at future collaborations with both Poppy and Fish in an interview with NME last year. “There is always going to be some way that we work with Jordan, because both of us really like collabs,” she said at the time.
“Maybe it’s not [Spiritbox’s] song, but we could help him with another artist.”
Elsewhere at Sunday’s ceremony, Record Of The Year went to Kendrick Lamar and SZA for their song ‘Luther’ – with Lamar later revealed to be the biggest winner of the night.
For Song Of The Year, the trophy went to Billie Eilish for ‘Wildflower’ – and she used her acceptance speech to call out ICE – and finally, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande won in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category for ‘Defying Gravity’.
Other performers turning heads on the night included Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Tyler, The Creator, and Lola Young.
Other big winners on the night included Bad Bunny, who also called out ICE, and Olivia Dean who used her Best New Artist win to celebrate immigrants.
