Sounded at first like we had been swallowed up in an Agatha Christie book and I’m just as confused as to how that idea popped into my head as you are reading this. Norway’s Bellman (Arne-Johan Rauan) are true pop voyagers so anything is possible in their company and the swell of psychedelic effects here is only matched by the swoonsome pop harmonies that have taken their cues from a celestial source. Add in some prog rock chords and there is a old world charm to ‘She’s Reading Poe’ that makes for essential listening. KH
