People Person Turn Frustration Into Hope With “Old Enough to Know”

Manchester indie quartet People Person have officially kicked off 2026 with the release of “Old Enough to Know.” A long-standing highlight of their live sets, the track was produced in-house by drummer Nat Coop and captures the band’s signature blend of post-punk grit and psych-folk textures. Despite being born out of a period of professional “defeat” and hardship, the single serves as a resilient, self-referential anthem that marks a turning point for the group as they prepare for a breakout year.

Frontman Adam Grealish describes the track as a hard-won tribute to the band’s survival:

“‘Old Enough to Know’ feels almost like a love song for the band. It was written in a time of a lot of frustration & hardship for us as a band and I wanted to take that feeling of defeat and give it a hopeful undertone with this track.”

Since forming in 2024, the four-piece has become a staple of Manchester’s DIY circuit, earning a reputation for a “mature” sound that belies their newcomer status. With their sophomore EP slated for an early summer arrival, “Old Enough to Know” acts as both a mission statement and a thank-you to the band’s internal chemistry.
