Slam Dunk Festival Marks 20th Anniversary with Debut German Show and Italy Return

Slam Dunk Festival has officially unveiled its 2026 European expansion, marking a massive milestone for the independent rock institution. Hardcore titans Knocked Loose are set to headline the mainland dates, carrying significant momentum following their recent collaboration with Denzel Curry. For fans across the continent, these shows represent the only opportunity to catch the band’s legendary live energy this summer, as they transition from headlining the festival’s flagship UK dates at Hatfield Park and Temple Newsam straight to the European circuit.

The 2026 run features a historic first for the brand: its debut in Germany on May 29th at Oberhausen’s Turbinenhalle. The lineup for the German premiere is a heavy-hitter’s dream, featuring Paleface Swiss, Stand Atlantic, and Static Dress, alongside the nostalgic draw of Hawthorne Heights. Just a few days later, on June 1st, the festival returns to Italy at Milan’s Circolo Magnolia. The Italian date adds an extra layer of prestige with an appearance by hardcore legends Gorilla Biscuits, ensuring the festival’s return to the Mediterranean is an unmissable event for the alt-scene.

This expansion serves as the grand finale for Slam Dunk’s 20th-anniversary celebrations. Since its humble beginnings in 2006, the festival has evolved from a local one-day event into the UK’s largest independent rock gathering. By bridging the gap between iconic legends and the genre’s most exciting breakthrough acts, Slam Dunk is cementing its reputation as a global must-attend. After two decades at the forefront of the scene, these European shows prove the festival is still successfully pushing boundaries and growing its community well beyond the UK.
