Singer-songwriter Purynn releases her debut EP "[LOadinG . .]"on February 16, three years after her first single "Empty" in 2022. Rather than presenting a finished statement, the EP captures the artist's disorganized thoughts and emotions as a work "in progress," chronicling the shifting moods of a single day from morning to late afternoon across its tracks.
The EP's most striking feature is its contrast between sound and lyrics. Warm tones, flowing melodies, and dreamy textures are layered with unexpectedly direct and detached prose, creating a juxtaposition where smooth, sensual pop and R&B/soul music carries sharply piercing lyrics about inner anxiety, resignation, and self-reflection. This deliberate distance showcases Purynn's inner turmoil and creates a multifaceted portrait of the artist.
The project features diverse collaborators including longtime partner Steven, along with omnostereo and DAVIAN—producers and sound engineers who have worked with leading contemporary artists like Hanroro and Car the Garden. Each track presents distinct textures and spatial qualities, from the hazy, nightmare-tinged 'Intro0o0oo' and the self-reflective 'Off the Record,' through the cynical 'Girls' featuring Kid Milli, to the resolute "Do your thing" featuring CHOILB.
The title track 'Tool Kit' calmly portrays a person blundering through the day, weary of perfectionism, and a heart weary of the cycle of expectation and disappointment. As the title "Tool Kit" suggests, the artist has pulled out a tool to solve a problem, but what it contains are worn-out emotions and exhausted excitement. While the sound is light and bouncy, the lyrics embrace resignation and exhaustion through layered metaphors.

The EP concludes with 'Matter,' set in late afternoon, where Purynn finally reveals her most honest emotion: the desire to be seen for who she truly is.
