Job Posting: Decibel Sales and Marketing Assistant (Part Time)

    Do you like heavy metal? Do you like craft beer? Have you ever seen a print magazine before? If so, you’re in luck because Decibel magazine is looking for someone to assist in advertising and sponsorship sales and account maintenance for the magazine, our Metal & Beer Fests and our annual Tour.

    Attributes & Personality

    • The candidate should have sales skills and/or experience. Do your friends tell you that you talk a lot? Good!
    • A passion for metal music and its extreme subgenres.
    • An interest in craft beer and brewing is a plus
    • Strong interest and/or experience in live events. You’ll need earplugs

    Skills

    • Ability to write clearly
    • Self-motivated
    • Must be responsive to emails and texts in a timely and professional manner
    • Comfortable working under deadlines
    • Comfortable talking on the phone and with face-to-face interactions
    • Social media skills (TikTok, especially) a plus

    Metal & Beer Fest + Decibel Tour Responsibilities

    • Secure commitment forms for both sponsors and breweries
    • Confirm beer styles appearing at event from each brewery
    • Keep track of pricing info, kegs or cans, ABV, etc.
    • Acquire high-resolution logos and confirm links
    • Send announcement assets to partners, and coordinate date and time of announcements
    • Coordinate collaborative announcements on social media
    • Coordinate passes, tables and any other needs sponsors may have for event dates
    • Confirm working guest lists in advance of fests

    Magazine and Digital Ad Responsibilities

    • Send ad art reminders
    • Collect assets for digital campaigns (links, images, text, etc)
    • Traffic ads
    • Send insertion orders
    • Gather addresses for mailouts to new advertisers
    • Communicate regularly with accounts receivable about delinquent accounts

    Ideally, the candidate lives in the Philadelphia area and can do in-person work as needed.

    The position is:

    • Part-time, 25 to 30 hours a week
    • Work Location: Hybrid remote in Philadelphia, PA 19107
