The Los Angeles-based, Icelandic-Chinese artist, composer, producer and former NME Cover star kicked off her 2026 tour dates in Europe last month. She played in Dusseldorf, Copenhagen, Berlin, Paris and more in celebration of her third studio album ‘A Matter Of Time’, which dropped in August.

Last night (Wednesday March 4), she began the UK leg of the tour, playing a show at the Co-op Live in Manchester –just days after the 2026 BRIT Awards took place there.

Like with the European dates, Laufey’s show was split into different ‘Acts’, with the first opening with ‘Clockwork’, ‘Lover Girl’, ‘Dreamer’ and more, while the second saw her put a heavier jazz spin on ‘Valentine’, ‘Fragile’, and Carmen Lombardo’s ‘Seems Like Old Times’.

In ‘Act Three’, however, she mixed things up for the crowd in Manchester, and brought out film legend and jazz singer Jeff Goldblum as a special guest.

He took to the stage after Laufey performed ‘Carousel’, ‘Forget-Me-Not’ and ‘Cuckoo Ballet’, and joined her for a rendition of Erroll Garner’s song ‘Misty’.

As seen in footage from last night, Goldblum was smitten to be invited on stage by the singer, and told her that he thought she was “the greatest superstar on the planet, in my humble opinion”.

Laufey went on to perform songs including ‘Promise’, ‘Goddess’ and ‘From The Start’ in ‘Act Four’, before wrapping up with ‘Sabotage’, and breaking out ‘How I Get’ and ‘Letter to My 13 Year Old Self’ in the encore. Check out the full setlist and more footage below.

In a four-star review of ‘A Matter Of Time’, NME wrote: “‘A Matter Of Time’ is just as gorgeous as its predecessors, but this time, there’s more darkness shadowing the gleam. Sometimes that manifests in Laufey’s vocals or lyrics – over the bossa nova swing (and Clairo backing vocals) of ‘Mr. Eclectic’, she elegantly eviscerates men trying to ‘woo and win‘ her. ‘You think you’re so interesting,’ she sings with an audible eye roll and mocking smirk, putting pretentious posers who ‘think you’re so poetic / Quoting epics and ancient prose‘ firmly in their place.”

NME also spoke to Laufey about the making of the album. “There are parts of me that come out in this album that I didn’t dare to put out in the last few,” she said. “The way the album’s sequenced is it starts with this hope and a little bit of fear of love – it’s a first date. And then as the album progresses, it falls more and more into anxiety, and falls apart.”

As for Goldblum, the singer and actor attended the 2026 BRITs last weekend, and was spotted at the Universal afterparty alongside Sam Fender, Lola Young, Olivia Dean and more. He also got fans talking when he shared that he quit “eating meat” after filming Wicked: For Good.
