San Francisco-based artist Michellar crafts a heartfelt, reflective journey on new full-length REVERIE ….FROM THEN TILL NOW, channeling a lifelong connection to music rekindled after decades away. Drawing from folk inspirations like Peter, Paul and Mary and Carole King, and shaped through collaboration with producer Tobias Wilson, the album blends introspective songwriting with warmly melodic arrangements, reflecting themes of renewal, resilience, and rediscovered creative purpose.

Commencing the album, “Its Another Year” combines tender acoustics and a clock-like rhythmic ticking. “It’s another year, here we again,” Michellar’s vocals let out amidst a layered combination of acoustics and twangy guitars, casting an introspective glow in musings on the inevitable passage of time — conveyed through the steady growth of children and the changing seasons. Ensuing track “Running Wild” achieves a country-touched appeal, featuring the vocals of Harrison Black as wailing guitar twangs accompany themes of escapism, the vocals beckoning for “anywhere but here.”

Then comes “Intersection,” a track featuring Tobias Wilson that stirs in its frolicking guitars and smitten vocal presence, culminating in a duet-ing “stopping all the traffic” melodic warmness. The album delights in its guest vocalists, and also in Michellar’s solo works. One example is “Never Say Sorry,” dazzling across acoustic-laden laments (“you met somebody…”) and fervent doses of catharsis, as various vocal layers move with electric ardor and string-laden gorgeousness past the two-minute turn.

Another gem, “Reverie” infuses natural imagery of creeks within memorable aspects of the life experience, pushing to “forget all of those worries” in driving to a personal sanctuary. “Every morning I can taste it,” Michellar’s vocals resonate alongside lovely strings, making for one of many memorable moments throughout REVERIE ….FROM THEN TILL NOW, a standout achievement in songwriting from Michellar.
