Pokémon is continuing its 30th anniversary celebrations by launching collaborations with footwear giants Puma and specialty coffee brand Grind.
The original Pokémon Red & Blue games were released in February 1996 and The Pokémon Company is pulling out all the stops for its 30th anniversary. As well as bringing classic GameBoy Advance games FireRed & LeafGreen to the Nintendo Switch, brand new cosy title Pokopia launched in March (and became the best-reviewed Pokémon game of all time) while free-to-play battle game Champions will be released later this month.
London’s Natural History Museum is currently hosting a Pokémon store pop-up and LEGO has released a series of Pokémon models – with more on the way later this year. There’s also a planned 30th anniversary trading card set.
Now two new collaborations have been confirmed. Pokémon has teamed up with Puma for a series of themed trainers. Fans can get hold of a limited edition Pikachu-inspired RS-X trainer, the Bulbasaur-themed Rider FV, the Charmander Slipstream INVDR or the Squirtle Suede Classic. Mimikyu features on the limited edition Inverse trainer, Espeon on the Mostro, while Umbreon and Pikachu both feature on the Fade.
