Fans have been waiting since 2022 for the third season of the show, which will represent the gap by portraying a jump in time where the characters will no longer be in high school and embarking on their own journeys in adult life.

A recent trailer showed Zendaya’s character Rue in legal trouble for drug smuggling, while Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) enters the world of adult “cam girl” content after reuniting with Maddy (Alexa Demie).

The third season of the show has long been rumoured to be the last, and in a new interview on The Drew Barrymore Show, Zendaya appeared to confirm it. When the host asked outright if this would be the last season, the actor replied: “I think so, yeah.”

She didn’t elaborate beyond that statement, other than saying: “That closure is coming”.

Speaking about her experience on the show in general, she said she was “proud” of what she achieved and that the series. “Rue taught me so much about life,” she explained. “That crew has also seen me grow up. I owe so much to that show. Rue taught me so much about empathy and redemption. I’m very grateful for all of it.”

Euphoria season three arrives April 12 on Sky Atlantic and the NOW streaming service in the UK, as well as the HBO Max service. Zendaya and Sweeney will be joined by series regulars Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Colman Domingo, and Eric Dane in one of his final roles prior to his death earlier this year. This will also be the first season not to feature Angus Cloud, who played Fez and died in July 2023.

Recently, fans took to social media to react to the shift in tone for Euphoria’s latest trailer, with one fan stating: “This show went from teen drama to GTA”.
