April 10th marked a defining moment for Adorn with the release of Let Love Remain, an 11-track LP that looks beyond cultural division in search of unity. Rooted in metalcore and post-hardcore traditions, the album draws clear inspiration from genre staples like Saosin and Thrice, while still carving out its own identity.
Diving into the record’s core, Let Love Remain opens with a deeply emotional self-titled intro. Guided by aching piano lines and soaring vocals, it sets a reflective tone that carries through the album.
As expected from a well-executed post-hardcore release, Adorn deliver both intensity and emotional weight throughout. Tracks like The Brave and Bled Defiant and Pass The Pulse highlight the band’s heavier side, driven by distorted riffs, relentless percussion, and Austin Gordon’s raw, unfiltered vocal delivery.
At the same time, Adorn reveal a more introspective dimension in songs like Voyeur and New Daily Reformation. These moments lean into atmosphere and reflection, where the instrumentation feels more spacious, and the emotion takes on a nostalgic, almost haunting quality.
A darker tone emerges in The End Is Not Yet, a chilling passage shaped by sombre guitar work and an eerie recorded voice that adds to its weight. This mood continues into Paper Crane and Diving Bell, where reflective guitar passages and layered vocal effects deepen the album’s sense of tension and introspection.
Switching gears, A House Divided Cannot Stand injects a more punk-driven energy, offering a faster pace while maintaining the sharp edge that defines Adorn’s sound.
Closing the album, Shep feels like a full-circle moment. Mirroring the intro’s piano-driven approach, it builds into a more expansive and forceful conclusion, showcasing Adorn’s commitment.
