“Unlimited Showers” is a brightly memorable indie-pop single from Stockholm-based Virgins at Heart. Portraying renewal through the metaphor of cleansing, the quartet pairs illuminated, harmonious instrumentations with resonating themes that signal the beauty of a fresh start.
Effervescent piano and comforting acoustic strums lend an approachable, introspective enjoyment as the track gets underway. The vocals follow with an optimistic sense of change, confident in renewal and brighter days ahead. The vocals push forth with “changing the world sentiments” as a perserverant delight, engaging with jangling guitars around the 50-second mark. “I’ll work it out, with someone new,” they let out with magnetic emotion, beckoning to “call me when you’re alone” as another gorgeous array of piano work hits alongside subtle backing strings, aesthetically reminding fondly of Jens Lekman in its blissful, contemplative pop orchestration.
“I like to take unlimited showers,” the vocals kickstart another memorable sequence, where the jangly guitars re-emerge amidst more vibrant strings. The final minute’s addition of clap-laden rhythms adds exceptionally, injecting a more playful demeanor into the “lift me up” vocal refrain, open to mutual love and affection in the “I’m done walking” vocal finality. “Unlimited Showers” is a harmonious, replay-tempting standout of a track from Virgins at Heart.
