Jewelry Company – “Glasses//Bonnet”

A moody, grooving single with Motown inspiration, “Glasses//Bonnet” is a stirring output from NY-based act Jewelry Company. One of many highlights from their newly released full-length album, Mergers & Acquisitions, “Glasses//Bonnet” dazzles in its range of emotion — from the acoustic-strummed yearning to more expansive allure. The latter is especially evident in the bridge emerging in the final minute, strutting that Motown nostalgia in its “baby, can you tell me please?” soulful vocal beckoning and late-night synths, set seamlessly amidst a funky bass drive. “Glasses//Bonnet” is an enveloping success.
